Odene Walker Hand, 82, of Tifton died Friday, December 23, 2011, at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Steve Poppell will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Aaron Goodman, Scott Tyson, Gabe Mathis, Adam Goodman, Jacob Hand, Derrick Croley and Troy Toler will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 26, 2011, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will receive friends at the home of Donna and J. R. Lambert, 400 Open Pond Road, Bainbridge, GA 39817 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2011. Mrs. Hand was born on June 9, 1929 in Alabama and was the daughter of Artful Walker and Annie Mae Twilley Walker, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James C. Hand; three brothers; one sister; and one great-grandchild. She was a retired teacher's aide at Northside Elementary and a homemaker. She was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. Mrs. Hand is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David and Debi Hand of Charleston, South Carolina; two daughters and one son-in-law, Donna H. and J. R. Lambert of Bainbridge and Ginger Hand of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; one brother, Dwight Walker of White Springs, Florida; one sister, Alma Walker Willis of Charleston, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Aaron Goodman, Brook Croley, Scott Tyson, Shiloh Toler, Gabe Mathis, Jacob Hand and C.
