Mr. Olin Franklin (Frankie) Hooker, Jr., age 52, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at his home in Donalsonville, Georgia. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2013, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Valdosta, Georgia. The Rev. James Yarbrough and the Rev. Ronnie Youngblood will officiate. James Cromer, Chris Culpepper, Johnny Simpson, Marty Rountree, Paul Simpson, Chris Mayberry, Braydon Rountree, and Dewayne Dukes will serve as pallbearers. Elton Cromer, Stevie Yarbrough, Christian Mayberry, and Mark Simpson will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6:00-800 p.m., Thursday, at Cox Funeral Home. Frankie was born November 28, 1960 in Hahira, Georgia to Olin Franklin Hooker, Sr. and Oppie Lee Bennett Hooker. He was a truck driver; driving for Lessor Trucking. Frankie was passionate about truck driving. He enjoyed everything about that career. His other passion was golf. Olin Franklin Hooker, Jr. is survived by his mother, Oppie Lee Bennett Hooker of Donalsonville; his children, Angie Hand and husband, Robert of Hahira and Tamara Hooker of Adel, Georgia; sisters, Bernice Hooker of Donalsonville, and Cindy Rountree and husband, Bobby of Cordele, Georgia; 7 grandchildren; and special friend and companion, Jean Gill of Lakeland, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Deborah Cromer. Memorial contributions may be made in Frankie's honor to Gentiva Hospice, 432 East Shotwell Street, Bainbridge, Georgia 39819.
