Oliver Woodrow Sellers, 92, of Brinson, GA, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Bainbridge Health Care. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Harrell and Mr. Marion Grubbs officiating. Interment will follow at Brinson Cemetery with his grandsons serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday, March 5, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Sellers was born September 12, 1917 in Ashford, AL, the son of Charlie Walker Sellers and Martha Cameron Sellers. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during World War II. Mr. Sellers was a carpenter and a member of Highway Free Will Baptist Church where he served as senior deacon for many years. Mr. Sellers and his wife, Edna, were members of Golden Age Singers where they entertained at nursing homes and community centers with gospel music. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Edna Waller Sellers and eleven siblings. Survivors include his two sons, Oliver W. Sellers, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Brinson, GA and David D. Sellers and his wife Kim of Climax, GA; his five daughters, Elaine S. Loyd of Iron City, GA, Martha S. Bryson of Brinson, GA, Olivia S. McCall and her husband Charlie of Brinson, GA, Dorcas S. Fraser and her husband Dennis of Cordele, GA and Debra S. Lairson and her husband Robert of Valiant, OK; his sister, Lucy Jane McGuire of Columbus, GA; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
