Ollie Bridges Josey, 82, of Brinson, GA, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008 at her home of sixty years. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 10, 2008 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Newton Cranford and Rev. Al Wilbourn officiating. Interment will follow at Colquitt City Cemetery with Joel Josey, Eric Burke, Frank Williams, Avery Hutto, B.J. Josey and Cody Harman serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Josey was born September 24, 1926 in Newton, GA, the daughter of Robert A. Bridges and Ollie Agnes Mason Bridges. She retired from Georgia State Hospital as a nurse, was a member of Woodman of the World, the Decatur County Senior Center and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ervin (Sambo) Josey and Wallace Booth, her daughter, Cynthia Josey and her sister, Juanita Massingale. Survivors include three sons, Ronnie Josey of Brinson, GA, John S. Phillips II of Fort Bragg, NC and Jeffrey M. Phillips of Kansas City, MO; her sister, Bobbie Baker of Albany, GA; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
