Onie Mitchell

Funeral services for Onie Lee Mitchell age 74, of Bainbridge, GA will be held on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Cox - Ware Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rawleigh Furney officiating. Interment will follow in Oak City Cemetery with Josh Hicks, Tracy Glover, J.R. Tindell, Terry Milligan, Todd Milligan, and Angel Gomez serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 6:00 PM. - 8:00 PM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel. Ms. Mitchell was born to the now late Charlie Tipton and Onie Cantley October 9, 1935 in Donalsonville, GA. She was an LPN and she enjoyed traveling, her home, fishing, and she enjoyed taking care and spending time with her family. She was a lifelong resident of Decatur County and was of the Baptist Faith. Ms. Mitchell passed away at her residence on Tuesday August 31, 2010. She is survived by one daughter ; Shelby L. Shepard of Bainbridge, GA; one son, Kenneth Lavon Newsome of Bainbridge, GA; one sister Vera Milligan; four grandchildren; Cynthia N. Poole: Shelley P. Hicks , Jeffery L. Newsome, and Kenny J. Newsome; and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her lifetime partner Mr. Henry Joe Kelley; and two brothers; Robert "Shorty" Tindell and Jim Buck Tindell.
