Oscar Kelly

Mr. Oscar Marion Kelly, age 76, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020, at his home in Bainbridge, Georgia. A graveside service will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Climax, Georgia. Due to ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic the service will be private The Rev. Marty Brock will officiate. Oscar Marion Kelly was born August 6, 1943 in Climax, Georgia. Emmett Fate Kelly and Retha Odessa Clinton Kelly, his parents, have preceded him in death. A little over 54 years ago Oscar married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Nix Kelly. Oscar attended West Street Baptist Church. Oscar was a hard- working man. He worked 10 years for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company. A talented automobile technician, he was the owner of Kelly Automotive. Oscar was a driver for the Decatur County Board of Education. He has been driving a school bus for over 25 years. Described as gentle and kind, Oscar never met a stranger. He deeply loved his family, especially his grandchildren! Each had a nickname they received from their Papa. Oscar loved to camp and fish. He would share his catch by having fish fries. This humble and devoted husband, grandfather, brother, and friend will be sorely missed by his large family and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Ed Kelly, and brother, Danny Kelly. Oscar Kelly is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Nix Kelly of Bainbridge; children, Tony Kelly of Bainbridge and Amanda Fuller (Wayne Allen) of Conyers, Georgia; siblings, Emmett Kelly, Jr., Calvin Kelly, Gary Kelly, Ronnie Kelly, Donnie Kelly, Jimmie Lou Anderson, Judy Vaughn, Lucia Walls, Cat Phillips, Kay Howell, and Tammie Brock; grandchildren, Kelly Abney, Kimberly Kelly, Jessica Peterson, Colton Kelly, and Airiana Fuller; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, and Zoe Lewis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
