Ottis Braswell

Mr. Ottis Ray Braswell, age 86, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Georgia. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, Georgia. The Rev. Dewitt Phillips will officiate. The family will receive friends at the end of the service. Ottis Ray Braswell was born February 13, 1936. His parents, Rufus Chester Braswell and Lucille Odom Braswell, have preceded him in death. Ray married Pearlie Ree Spivey. Pearlie passed away in 2008. Ray was of the Christian faith. He worked many years for Tillman Meat Company. After that company closed, he worked for and then retired from Amoco Fabrics. Ray has lived the last few years at Bainbridge Healthcare. He loved visiting and talking to people. Never met a stranger. Ray Braswell is survived by his daughter, Tina McChargue (David) of Cedar Key, Florida; grandchildren, Diane McChargue (Derrick) of Macon, Georgia, Kim McChargue of Macon, and Dave McChargue (Candice) of Port Wentworth, Georgia; 6 great grandchildren; 8 siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
