Paschal Monroe Phillips was born December 16, 1925, in Damascus, Georgia, to Albert Monroe Phillips and Idalene West Phillips. As a teenager, Paschal found his calling early in life and started preaching on street corners in Colquitt, Georgia. He had an earnest heart for God and continued to preach and share the Gospel as long as he was physically able. A strong, hard-working young man. Paschal had an amazing talent for farming. He was 14 years of age when he made his first peanut harvest. He and his brother made enough money to buy a Model T Ford and have $1.00 remaining to buy gasoline. Many, many vegetables were raised and given away. Mr. Phillips was famous for his hot pepper sauce. When you met Paschal Phillips, you were never treated as a stranger. His smile was infectious and his heart inspiring. Paschal Phillips also sold life insurance for many years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, salesman, preacher, and farmer. He would take your breath away either by his personality or his hot pepper sauce! Paschal Monroe Phillips is survived by his loving wife, Judy Ritter Phillips; his son, Paschal Eugene Phillips; granddaughter, Faith Eugenia Phillips; great-grandchildren, Justin, Christopher, Summer, and Trinity; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Evelyn Phillips; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Leona Phillips; and brother, Maurice Phillips.
