Paul W. Ragan, 86, of Macon, GA and formerly of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Monday, February 11, 2008 at his residence. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2008 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Medley and Rev. Darrell Chatraw officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Scott Roland, Rick Ragan, Jason Chatraw, Aaron Chatraw, Ben Chatraw and Joshua Chatraw serving as active pallbearers. The Barraca Sunday School Class with serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 14, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Mr. Ragan was born May 12, 1921 in Coleman, GA, the son of Charlie Henry Ragan and Mary Iva Bass Ragan. He attended Ft. Gaines High School and retired from the United States Army with twenty-four years of service, where he served in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #4904.
