Pearle Hamilton

Mrs. Pearle Knight Hamilton, age 91, formerly of Climax, Georgia, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, in Rome, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Hamilton will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Climax United Methodist Church. The Revs. Lynn Hurley and Wayne McDonald will officiate. Although Mrs. Hamilton will be interred in Cedar Grove Cemetery, the funeral will conclude at the church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Pearle Knight Hamilton was born December 22, 1924 in Climax, Georgia. She was the child of Marvin and Lillian Knight. In May of 1943 she married the love of her life, Lee Monroe Hamilton. She and Lee lead a wonderful life in the U.S. Navy. Pearle was a perfect Navy wife. She was ready and able to entertain anyone at a moment's notice. They traveled the world where, this true Southern Belle, met and became friends with all sorts of dignitaries and royalty. Lieutenant Commander Hamilton preceded his dear wife in death after they had retired to Climax, Georgia. Pearle Hamilton loved Climax, she held dear her many precious family members and friends, but her heart, as she so often called him, was her son Kenny. Pearle Hamilton will be sorely missed by the family and friends she loved so very much. Pearle Knight Hamilton is survived by her son, Kenneth Knight Hamilton and his wife, Melissa Pyle-Hamilton of Rome, Georgia; sister, Joy Knight of Ocean City, Maryland; brother-in-law, Jimmy Duke of Cuthbert, Georgia; sister-in-law, Nelma Hamilton of Tallahassee, Florida; nieces and nephews, Ann Tanner and Mike Tanner of Dothan, Alabama, Jack Hamilton, Jr. and Patricia Hamilton of Carmel, California and Jock Hamilton and Patricia Hamilton of Tallahassee; cousins, Dutch and Gwen Wingate of Climax, Betty Knight and Pam Knight of Climax, Inga Knight of Clearwater, Florida, Marilyn Humphries, Mike Humphries and DeeDee Humphries of St. Simons Island, Georgia; and special friends, Rev. and Mrs. Wayne McDonald of Cairo, Georgia, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Lambert, June Mosely, all of Climax, Pat Lokey, and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Shelley of Clearwater, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Minge and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wise, Cile Bishop, and Julie Barnes of Rome. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Hazel Duke, nephew, Tim Tanner, and brothers-in-law, Dr. Jack Hamilton and his wife, Lorena and Wallace Hamilton.
