Perry Clements

Perry L. Clements, 84, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Grubbs and Rev. Brian Hatchett officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Clements was born August 5, 1925 in Cordele, GA, the son of Thomas Jefferson Clements and Leila Griffin Clements. He was the owner and operator of Bainbridge Tie and Lumber Company when first moving to Bainbridge. Mr. Clements was best known for Carter's Fried Chicken which he owned and operated for over twenty years. He loved spending time with his family and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Clements was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammi Clements and his eight siblings. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Betty Corley Clements of Bainbridge, GA; his son, Perry "Buddy" Clements, Jr. and his wife Margie of Bainbridge, GA; his daughters, Martha Ann Reynolds and her husband Dr. Wilton of Bainbridge, GA, Donna Barber and husband David of Bainbridge, GA, and Terri Clements of Marianna, FL; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
