Phyllis Mcginty

Mrs. Phyllis McGinty, 81, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 19, at Salem Baptist Church in Decatur County, Georgia. Phyllis Jean Nutt was born July 22, 1934, in Anmore, West Virginia, to John William Nutt and Numa Opal Reeves Nutt. She was married to Billy George McGinty, who preceded her in death. She was a caregiver, sitting with homebound patients. Phyllis loved to knit and crochet. Mrs. McGinty was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Phyllis McGinty is survived by her step-sons, Kenneth R. McGinty, Damon G. McGinty, and Timothy L. McGinty; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Robert Nutt. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Doug Humphrey; and brothers, James Edward Nutt and John William Nutt, Jr.
