Raymond C. King, 83, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Walden and Rev. Fletcher Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Jim McCann, Danny VunCannon, Jim Miller, James Jordan, and Byron Griffis serving as active pallbearers. Raymond was born May 14, 1927 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Jesse Glen King and Ethel Lee Lynn King. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Unity Church of God in Iron City, GA and served many years as a volunteer for Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his daughters, Vickie Andrews and her husband Mike of Bainbridge, GA and Rosa Phillips and her husband Jimmy of Colquitt, GA; his brother, Allen King of Reynoldsville, GA; his sisters, Edith King of Reynoldsville, GA and Onez Lee of Bainbridge, GA; and his grandchildren, Derrick Cook, Joshua Cook, Laura Leigh Andrews, Megan Phillips, and Kayln Phillips. Raymond was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
