Rebecca Haire

Rebecca Haire, 78, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at Memorial Manor. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Ron McCaskell officiating. Interment will be at Cool Springs Cemetery with her nephews serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Haire was born July 31, 1936 in Moultrie, GA, the daughter of Roy Thomas Duncan and Evelyn "Granny" Duncan. She worked with the Decatur County Board of Education in food service and retired from the lunchroom at West Bainbridge Elementary School. Mrs. Haire was extremely creative and it showed in her sewing, baking, ceramics and upholstery projects. She was also known for her ability to fix just about anything....in her own way. Mrs. Haire was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was very active in the church and was once named "Mother of the Year." Survivors include her children, Donna Brooks Trammell and her husband, Mike, of Bainbridge, GA, Kathy Haire Edwards and her husband, Mark, of Tallahassee, FL and James Frank Brooks, Jr of Yucaipa, CA; her siblings, June D. Bouska and her husband, Jack, of Lawrenceville, GA, Pat D. Bowers and her husband, George, of Darien, GA, Roy Ferrol Duncan and his wife, Yvonne, of Cairo, GA, Morris O. Duncan and his wife, Mary Jo, of Havana, FL and Wright John Duncan and his wife, Gwen, of Vada, GA; her grandchildren, Brett Trammell and his wife, Chastity, Becky Trammell Hall, Travis Edwards, Amber T. McDowell and her husband, Justin, James Brooks, III, Billy Ray Brooks, and Dale Michael Brooks and his wife, Mandy; and her eleven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Jerome Haire; her parents; her son, John Ted Brooks; and her sister, Barbara D. Zotyka.
