Retha Gillespie

Retha Barnes Gillespie, 92, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Albritton officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens in Montgomery, AL. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Mrs. Gillespie was born August 26, 1921 in Paris, TX, the daughter of Samuel Zebadee Barnes and Ola Mae Chance Barnes. She was a homemaker and member of the Bainbridge Church of God. Survivors include her children, Dr. Jenna Miley and her husband, Stanley, of Bainbridge, GA and Patty Gillespie of Bainbridge, GA; and her grandchildren, Marc Torres and James Caruthers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar M. Gillespie; her siblings, Charles "Sonny" Barnes and Dorothy B. Parker; and her daughters, Dorothy J. Burke and Linda A Santucci.
