Richard L. Dykes, 47, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017.The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Box 155, Bainbridge, GA 39818.Richard Lawrence Dykes was born June 9, 1969 in Colquitt, GA, the son of R. L. Dykes and Marie Davis Dykes. He was a graduate of Miller County High School, Class of 1987 and a member of First Baptist Church in Bainbridge where he served as a Deacon. He married Tere Shealy in 1993.Richard, known to his GeoCaching and Facebook friends as "GeoBain", was quite skilled in technology. He used his skills to run his own computer repair service and serve his church by coordinating all the media for worship. Richard had a playful personality and enjoyed traveling even if it was just to his favorite Sushi restaurant. He took to heart his responsibilities as a Christian and loved others unconditionally. Richard's family was the light of his life.Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Tere Shealy Dykes; his son, Josh Dykes and his fiancé, Shelby Jarrett, of Athens, GA; his mother, Marie Dykes; his siblings, Russell Dykes and his wife, Glenda, of Gainesville, FL, Clifford Dykes and his wife, Teresa, of Colquitt, GA and Sharon D. McKinnon also of Colquitt, GA; and his beloved pets, Moses and Blueberry. Richard was preceded in death by his father, R.L. Dykes.
