Richard Samuel Smith, 81, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at his residence. The graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Delwood Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Long officiating. Mr. Smith was born November 10, 1931 in Mitchell County, GA, the son of Charlie Crawford Smith and Mary Jane Humphery Smith. He was a lifelong farmer and was a member of Delwood Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Laverne Ammons Smith of Bainbridge, GA; his sons, Ricky Smith and his wife, Bonnie, Glenn Smith, and Terrelle Smith, all of Bainbridge, GA; his sister, Caudie Keaton; his 6 grandchildren; and his 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Preston Smith, Joe Smith, J. C. Smith, and John Smith; and his sisters, Charlie Mae Faircloth, Earnestine Godwin, and Odessa Gleaton.
