Mr. Ridgeway "Bill" Taylor, age 86 passed away May 9, 2007 at his residence in Bainbridge, GA. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. C. Phil Tondee, Charles Ridgeway Taylor, and Charles Ridgeway Taylor, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Robert Stephens, Gene Powell, James Stewart, Bobby Palmer, Johnson Parker, and Melvin Davis serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Taylor was born August 30, 1920 in Climax, GA, to the late Jim Henry Taylor and Lilly Wimberly Taylor. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II, was a retired maintenance superintendent for Engelhard Corporation, and Deacon of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Louise Brooks Taylor of Bainbridge, GA; a son, Charles Ridgeway Taylor and wife Linda of Reynoldsville, GA; a brother, Johnny Taylor of Donalsonville, GA; three sisters, Nettie Chester of Concord, FL, Jeanette Sapp of Climax, GA, and Dola Merle Strickland of Climax, GA; two grandchildren, Charles Ridgeway (Chuck) Taylor, Jr. and wife Leigh Ann of Gothenburg, NE, and Carla Taylor Jackson of Bainbridge, GA; three great-grandchildren, Gage Taylor, Jonah Taylor, and Jed Taylor, all of Gothenburg, NE.
