Robert Battle

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Bobby Battle will be Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Cox - Ware Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim McLaughlin officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Casey Townsend, Tommy Bush, Jessie Richardson, Leon Barwick, Larry McDaniel and Curt Peterson serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Battle was born in Seminole County, GA the son of the now late Fred and Sallie Tye Battle. He moved to Decatur County in 1997 and married Gwen Brooks Battle. He was of the Baptist faith and was employed by the Decatur County Public Works as a dump truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and motorcycles. In 1990 he was employee of the year. Mr. Battle was survived by his wife of 12 years Gwen Brooks Battle of Bainbridge, GA; two daughters Samantha Battle and Angela White both of Eastman, GA; four step daughters Sheila Argo, Cheryl Richardson, Sherry Smith and Daisey Lynn Holley all of Bainbridge, GA; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother who raised him Ossie Tye and his dog Weasel.
