Mr. Robert L. ("Bob") Bridges, 78, of Brinson, GA, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge, GA. The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2007 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Bridges was born October 11, 1928 in Louisville, KY, the son of Robert Watt Bridges and Elsie Allean Hurt Bridges. He served in the U. S. Navy and was a retired electrical engineer from Louisville Electric and Gas. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary T. Bridges of Brinson, GA; four sons, Bobby Bridges, Dale Bridges, and George Bridges, all of Tallahassee, FL, and Sandy Bridges of Ellijay, GA; five daughters, Deborah McClure of Ellijay, GA, Vickie Kearse and Gale Gatlin, both of Tallahassee, FL, Edie Bridges and Wendy Barber, both of Brinson, GA; four sister-in-laws, Nettie Glover of Camilla, GA, Joyce Brown of Bainbridge, GA, Grace McLeroy of Greenville, SC, and Loretta Bridges of Indianapolis, IN; 16 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
