Robert Green

Mr. Robert Eddie Green, Sr., age 66, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. Services for Mr. Green will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 26, at Liberty Baptist Church, 2909 Vada Road, Bainbridge, Ga. 39817. The Rev. Stacy Glover will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Matthew Newsome, Mark Strickland, Chris Avery, Hayes Green, Robbie Green, Michael Solliday, Daniel Solliday, James Solliday, Samuel Solliday, Kevin Salter, and Blake Miller will serve as pallbearers. Van Toliver, Phillip Martin, Greg Harrell, Frank Chandler, and Bryan Shockley will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. Robert Eddie Green, Sr. was born February 17, 1957, in Bainbridge, Georgia to Robert Riley Green and May Bell Harrell Green. Eddie was a selfless, caring person. He was a “Mama’s Boy” that cared for and tended to his mother all her life. Eddie never judged others and always offered support and encouragement. After a short time of dating, they were engaged and, three weeks later, he married the love of his life, Donna Salter Green. He and Donna have shared life for 38 years. Eddie had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. He loved to be outdoors. He retired from BASF and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Eddie loved peppermint Lifesavers and Reese’s Cup eggs. Mostly, with his whole heart, he loved his children and grandchildren. Lovingly called “Pappy”, he cherished time spent with his grands and family. Eddie Green will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Donna Salter Green; children, Rob Green, Jr. (Ericka) and Jami Barnard (Trey); son-in-law, Wyndell West; siblings, Richard Green (Angela), Harold Green (Peggy), Judy Solliday, and Patricia Newsome (Eddie); grandchildren, Madison West, Makenna West, Landon West, Jaken Green, Ellie Rae Green, Emma Kate Barnard, and Annleigh Barnard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
