Robert Lane

Robert L. "Bob" Lane, 71, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Mosley officiating. Private interment will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Evan Shockley, Bryan Shockley, Dustin Shockley, Cameron Shockley, Bill Harrell, and Kirk Farkas serving as active pallbearers and Rev. Donna Sue Roberts officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hardee's Coffee Club. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Dr. Lane was born December 11, 1942 in Crisp County, GA, the son of Robert Lee Lane, Sr. and Essie Booth Lane. He was a charter faculty member of Bainbridge College, a member of Lunker Bass Club, a member of the Bainbridge Little Theater, and the Kiwanis Club. Dr. Lane was a founding member of the Bainbridge-Decatur County KAB, Past-President of the Bainbridge Tea Party Group and worked for many years as Santa's Helper. He attended First United Methodist Church and enjoyed his grandchildren, cats and birds. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Sheila Knight Lane of Bainbridge, GA; his children, Terri Lane Weimorts and her husband, Craig, of Watkinsville, GA, Shawn Knight and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Goldsboro, NC and Shanna Farkas and her husband, Kirk, of Savannah, GA; his grandchildren, Abby Lane Weimorts of Watkinsville, GA, Shawn Christian Knight of Goldsboro, NC, Jackson Matthew Farkas of Savannah, GA, and Maddox Evan Farkas of Savannah, GA.
