Robin Harned

Robin Elaine Harned, 55, of Tallahassee, FL passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her beloved husband, daughters and mother, following a heroic battle of cancer. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2011 at Timberlane Church of Christ, 3569 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312 with Minister Trey Poole officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, Robin's high school classmates set up a fund to help the family defray medical costs, and donations may be made at any local Hancock Bank to the "Robin Skipper Harned Benefit Fund." Box 20910, Tallahassee, FL 32316; or The American Cancer Society, 2619 Centennial Blvd Ste 101, Tallahassee, FL 32308. Robin was born on September 28, 1956 in Huntingdon, PA. She was an active member of Warren County High School in McMinnville, TN, where she was a cheerleader, ROTC member, National Honor Society member and Vice President of her senior class of 1974. She was an active member of Church of Christ. She attended Draughn's Business College to become a medical assistant. On May 28, 1977, she and Jeff married in Mayfield, KY, and her life direction became her family and raising 3 wonderful girls. They moved to Tallahassee, FL, where she owned and operated her own cleaning service for many years. Robin also worked in a physician's office for 8 years before retiring last year. Robin was a breast cancer survivor of 12 years, but her most significant achievement is that of wife, mother and Goma. Robin will be remembered by many as a woman of deep faith and commitment. She gave of her life sacrificially to many. Robin is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jeff Harned of Tallahassee, FL; her daughters, Lindsey Scott and her husband, Lee, of Huntsville, AL, Megan Harned and fiancé, William Henderson, of New Orleans, LA, and Mallory DeLoach and husband, Josh, of Charlottesville, VA; her mother, Dauna Louise Skipper of Fayetteville, TN; her brother, Mike Skipper of Okeechobee, FL; her sister, Vickie Stubblefield of Madison, AL; her four grandchildren, Rylie Emma Scott (6), Benjamin Dale DeLoach (5), Rowan Leah Scott (3) and Dilan Cannon DeLoach (1); and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, W.E. "Skip" Skipper. All who knew her will miss Robin tremendously. We love you and always will!
