November 12, 1951 — April 18, 2014

Rodger Dale Robinson, 62, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Mosley officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Charles Harrell, Terry Parker, Scott Roberson, Otis Lee Boyett, Willard Musgrove, Lewis Hyatt, Neal Zorn, Terry Heard, Jimmy Johnson, Jimmy Hardy, John "Gomer" Turner, and Mike Floyd serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Walmart Transportation employees of the LaGrange, Douglas and Opelika distribution centers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice. Rodger was born November 12, 1951 in Dade City, FL, the son of Brantley Robinson and Thelma Boyett Robinson. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1970 and was a truck driver for Walmart for many years. Rodger enjoyed time spent outdoors, the Flint River, boat racing, camping, fishing, and netting. He was a fan of the University of Georgia Football and enjoyed NASCAR racing and was active in the Riverchase Golfcart Security Team. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Carla Bates Robinson of Bainbridge, GA; his son, Curtis Robinson of Valdosta, GA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Krista Robinson and his sisters, Ida Mae Morrisett and Brenda Cox. The family would like to offer a special thank you to "The Gang" for all their love and support.
