Roger Maxwell

Roger Leon Maxwell, Sr., 71, of Whigham, GA, passed away Thursday, July, 31, 2014 at his residence. The graveside funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Harrell officiating. His sons and grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home. Mr. Maxwell was born November 4, 1942 in Cairo, GA, the son of Clifford Maxwell and Alberta Barwick Maxwell. He was a graduate of Climax High School and retired from BASF, Attapulgus, GA. Mr. Maxwell was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed time spent eating and joking with his family and friends, watching football, and fishing. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Cloyce C. Maxwell, of Whigham, GA; his children, Candace Irene Tatum and her husband, Lee, of Whigham, GA, Pauline Maxwell of Bainbridge, GA, Roger Leon Maxwell, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Pelham, GA, Donnie Lee Maxwell and his wife, Paula, of Bainbridge, GA, Ronnie Lee Maxwell of Sylvester, GA, and Abbie Grace Toole and her husband, Jonathan, of Cairo, GA; his siblings, Albert B. Maxwell of Bainbridge, GA, Jeanette Cook of Tallahassee, FL, Maxine Johnson of Bainbridge, GA, and Dale Barry of Aurora, CO; his 9 grandchildren; his 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Maxwell was proceeded in death by his parents; his sisters, Velna M. Toellner, Josie R. Rose; his brothers, Ralph D. Maxwell, Clifford B. Maxwell, Dennis W. Maxwell, Donald E. Maxwell as well as an infant brother.
