Mr. Ronald E. Hooks, age 61, of Panama City, Florida, passed away in Bainbridge, Georgia, Wednesday evening, March 16, 2016, surrounded by his family. Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. A private, family interment will follow in Blackjack Cemetery. Rev. Dewitt Phillips will officiate. Ronald E. Hooks was born April 11, 1954 to James M. Hooks and Elizabeth Hartley Hooks. He was raised in Bainbridge; graduating from Bainbridge High School. Ronald worked hard in local civic clubs. He was a member of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce and served as coordinator of flood relief for the State of Georgia, through the Bainbridge Jaycees. Loving motorcycles, he was a member of the Deep South Riders. Ronald was affiliated with the Outlaw Motorcycle Club and the Black Piston Motorcycle Club. He was affiliated with American Legion Post 392 of Panama City, Florida. Ronald was a member of Blackjack Baptist Church. Ronald Hooks is survived by his children, Dena Hooks of Panama City, Florida and J. Wesley Hooks of Bainbridge; his mother, Elizabeth H. Hooks of Bainbridge; brother, Jimmy E. Hooks; sisters, Deborah H. Morris and Teresa H. Sellers, all of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Jacob Wood, Autumn Wood, Erica Wood, James Knight, Destiny Johnson, and Megan Paige Chittenden; and great-grandchild, Mason Ryan Weaver. He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Hooks. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 507 West Third Avenue, Suite 4, Albany, Georgia 31701.
