Roxie Chambless

Roxie J. Chambless, 55, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Gerald A. Little and Brother Chad Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Eldorendo Baptist Church Cemetery with Brett Elliot, Marvin Strickland, Barrett Kirbo, Derick Bradford, C. J. Jackson, Chris Moore, Jeb King, and Trey Mock serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1974, and a graduate of Bainbridge College. Roxie was the owner and operator of Little Rascals Daycare, was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and a former member of the Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include her husband, Mike Chambless of Bainbridge, GA; her sons, Christopher Michael Chambless and Roderick William Chambless, both of Bainbridge, GA; her daughter, Jenna Michele Chambless of Bainbridge, GA; her mother, Joanne T. Clements of Bainbridge, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Roxie was preceded in death by her father, Roderick Buel Clements and her brother, Roddy Clements.
