Ruby Barfield

Ruby L. Barfield, 95, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Memorial Hospital. The graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Newton Crawford officiating. Active pallbearers will be Lance Lane, Lawson Lane, Will Brock, and Chason Phillips. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Mrs. Barfield was born August 14, 1918 in Adel, GA, the daughter of Ed Lassiter and Rossie Ann Lassiter. She was a manager for many years at Baxter's Shoe Store and worked until retirement at Grollman's Shoe Store, and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn Brock and her husband, Billy, of Bainbridge, GA; her sister, Kaleda Meeks of Valdosta, GA; her grandchildren, Marla Zorn, Michelle Lane, Pam Carter, Angie Bryson, Lee Brock, Dana Phillips, and Sheree Dean; her 11 great-grandchildren; and her 2 great-greatgrandchildren. Mrs Barfield was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Barfield; her son, Edward Barfield;her daughter, Ann Zorn; her siblings, Alma Davis, Jewel Blanton, Mary Lou Wise, and Tally Lassiter.
