Ruby Adell Lynn Smith, 77, of Bainbridge, GA passed away Friday, November 16, 2007 at Tallahassee Memorial Health Care. The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Paul Medley and Reverend Stanley Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Chris Smith, Skylar Smith, Spencer Smith, Ty Smith, Sean Slaughter, Derrick Calhoun, and Ryals Smith serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Smith was born January 22, 1930 in Desser Community, Seminole County, GA to the now late John Lynn and Emma Braswell Lynn. She graduated from FDR High School and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. She operated Jim's Oyster Bar with her husband for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. (Jim) Smith, her brother, C. B. (Buddy) Lynn, and her great-granddaughter, Delaney Grace Slaughter. Survivors include five sons, Larry Smith and wife Lynda, Tim Smith and wife Carla, Mitch Smith and wife Julie, and Gene Smith and his fiancé Suzanne Brandt, all of Bainbridge, GA, and Guy Smith and wife Lorenda of Pelham, GA; one sister, Ann Lynn Cunningham of Bainbridge, GA; thirteen grandchildren, Angela Slaughter of Columbus, GA, Chris Smith of Tallahassee, FL, Mary Ellen Calhoun of Valdosta, GA, Caitlyn Swords of Pelham, GA, Spencer Smith, Skylar Smith, Sydney Smith, Ty Smith, Morgan Rogers, Ryals Smith, Searcy Smith, Emma Kate Smith, and Mitchell Smith, all of Bainbridge, GA; three great-grandchildren, Hays Slaughter and Ben Slaughter of Columbus, GA and Folton Calhoun of Valdosta, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
