Ruth Virginia Myers Heard, 85, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Pastor Jeff Stapleton officiating. Survivors include her children, Linda Laman of Chicago, IL, Cindy McConnell of Bainbridge, GA, Ronnie Heard of Irvington, AL, Terry Heard of Griffin, GA, and Debbie Heard of Jacksonville, FL; her brother-in-law, James Heard of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Heard was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Troupe Heard; her sister, Lorraine Jones; and her granddaughter, Lisa Heard.
