Sandra Turner

Mrs. Sandra Barfield Turner, age 73, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021, surrounded by family at her home in Bainbridge, Georgia. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 12, 2021, Springhill Cemetery, 1904 Spring Hill Road, Whigham, Georgia 39897. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 11, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. Sandra D. Barfield Turner was born August 24, 1947, in Cairo, Georgia. Her parents, Carson Barfield and Mary Ann Starke Barfield, have preceded her in death. Sandra ran her own business and worked as a hairdresser in Albany, Georgia for 31 years. She then moved back to Cairo and worked for 13 years at the Market Diner in Thomasville, Georgia. In 1983 she married Charles Everett Turner. Mr. Turner passed away in October of 2020. Sandra enjoyed working in her yard. Her flowers showed the proof of her “green” thumb. Sandra’s number one job was being a mother. Her children and grandchildren were her heart and soul. Sandra Turner will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Turner is survived by her children, Shanna Feaster (Bill), Carson Brandon Givens, and Merry April Turner (Wesley Tillery), all of Bainbridge; brother, Steve Barfield of Albany; grandchildren, Hali Walker, Brittany Taylor, Savannah and Hunter Whiddon, Summer and Tyler Holley, Sandi Feaster, and Wesleigh Brooke Tillery; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Carroll Todd Givens and Christopher Columbus Givens; and brother, Buddy Barfield.
