Sara Dollar

Sara Williams Dollar, age 91, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, at her home in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Dollar will be held Monday, October 13, at 2:00 pm, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home. The Rev. Larry Harrell will officiate. James Dollar, Russell Chance, Chuck Chandler, Scott Richardson, Maddix Dollar, Mason Dollar, Johnny Merritt, and Evan Dollar will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 1:00.

Sara Helen Williams was born May 23, 1934, in Brinson, Georgia, to Harry Bradford Williams and Rosa Neal Brown Williams. She grew up in the Brinson Community. Sara believed in hard work and worked for Southern Bell as an operator 35 years. After her retirement she worked at the Elcan-King Elementary School Library and later at Memorial Hospital. She was married to James (Jay) Washington Dollar, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Dollar was an independent, headstrong lady who liked to travel and go shopping. She was a member of West Bainbridge Baptist Church for 46 years before her health started to fail and she wasn’t able to attend as much. Sara loved her family deeply and had a servant’s heart. She will be missed and never forgotten.

Sara Helen Williams is survived by her children, Wanda Jackson (Ron) of LaGrange, Georgia, Brad Dollar (Brenda) of Manning South Carolina, Dennis Dollar (Marsha) of Climax, Georgia, and Danny Dollar (Sonya) of Climax, Georgia; her brother, Joe Williams (Eulouise) of Roswell, Georgia; 12 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Jimmy Dollar, grandsons, Daniel, Eddie, and B.J. Dollar, and several siblings.
