Sara Palmer

Sara Vonceil Palmer, 87, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Black Jack Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Palmer and Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating, and will conclude at the church. Interment will be at Black Jack Baptist Church Cemetery. John Waller, Jessie Kelley, Jimmy Palmer, Bryan Cottles, Dewayne Harrell, and Travis Harrell will serve as active pallbearers. Mrs. Palmer was born September 25, 1927 in Grady County, GA, the daughter of Willie H. Bishop and Armellia Knight Bishop. She was a homemaker and a member of Morningside Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, James V. Palmer, Jr. and his wife, Gail, of Tuscaloosa, AL, Danny Palmer and his wife, Diane, of Mustang, OK, Judy Harrell of Bainbridge, GA, Peggy Davenport of Colquitt, GA, Sandra Cottles of Bainbridge, GA, Mary Wilkin and her husband, Ronald, of Bainbridge, GA, and Betsy Marlowe and her husband, Andy, of Cedartown, GA; her brother, J. E. Bishop of Bainbridge, GA; her sister, Frances Hatcher of Baconton, GA; 24 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Virgil Palmer and her sisters, Nell Hatcher and Inez Thomas
