Sarah Harrell

Sarah Harrell, 85, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008 at West Street Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Allan and Rev. Al Wilbourn officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Jimmy Elkins, Dean Elkins, Nolan Coumbe, Trent Bellflower, Shane Bellflower and Chris Sapp serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Harrell was born July 23, 1922 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Burford Matthews and Elsie McElvie Matthews. She was employed with Decatur County Training Center as a Foster Grandmother and was a member of West Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Harrell; her daughter, Sandy H. Bellflower; two brothers, Charles "Bubba" Matthews and Jamie Matthews; and her sister, Betty Miner. Survivors include her daughters Janette and her husband James Earl Elkins of Bainbridge, GA and Faye H. Sapp of Climax, GA; her sister, Louise and her husband Buck Farlow of Greensboro, NC; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
