Mrs. Scarborough Lee Scott, age 82, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services will be held Monday, December 9, 10:00 a.m., at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. S. E. Newberry will be officiating. The service will conclude at the chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private interment at Brinson Cemetery will be held. Friends are invited to drop by on Sunday afternoon, 2:00-5:00 p.m., for viewing. Scarborough Lee Whiddon was born July 30, 1931 in Gadsden County, Florida. Her father, Scarborough Whiddon, passed away and she was raised by her mother, Annie Estelle Martin Rogers and step-father, C. B. Rogers. She married Joseph Jake Scott. She and Rev. Scott worked and served together at many churches in this area. Rev. Scott preceded his wife in death. Mrs. Scott was a supervisor at Jack Winter Company and worked for the Decatur County School System as a bus driver and lunchroom manager. She volunteered at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Merry Makers of Brinson. Scarborough Lee Scott is survived by her son, Dan Scott and wife Jodi of Bainbridge; son-in-law, Donnie Draper of Boykin, Georgia; sister, Mary Alice Lanton and husband, Ted of Jakin, Georgia; brother, Ben Rogers and wife, Glenda of Cochran, Georgia; grandchildren, Jody Draper Hodges and husband, David of Colquitt, Georgia, Samantha Draper Ard and husband, Steve of Colquitt, Brandon Draper of Bainbridge, Christopher Scott of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Kristin Gawn of Bainbridge; and 6 great-grandchildren Scarborough Lee Scott was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She lost of daughter, Jakie Scott Draper in 2004.
