Scott Hamilton

August 13, 1959 — March 26, 2009

Scott L. Hamilton 1959-2009 Scott was born in Bainbridge, Georgia on August 13, 1959 to Curtis and Evelyn Hamilton, and his older brother, Craig. Born with a congenital heart defect at a time when corrective surgeries were only beginning, Scott beat the odds early in life. He grew up curious to learn and loved taking apart any machine, radio, or TV he could find. A hard worker, Scott started his first job at age 13 in a TV repair shop. He went on to study electrical engineering at Southern Tech in Marietta, GA. After graduating in 1981, Scott worked for Scientific Atlanta for many years. Scott's love for inventing increased and he went on to start his own company called DSI which developed innovative products. Later, Scott worked at Perimeter Church in the Tech ministry, then Worship & Arts, and then IT. Last year, Scott started working at a product development company called Slingshot which was a terrific fit and a "dream job" for him. Mutual friends introduced Scott and Pam in 1992 and they were married in Oct of 1993. They shared a love for music and God, the outdoors, and raising a "large assortment of small children" as Scott would have said. In 1999 they were blessed with their first little boy, Luke, then Pierce in 2000, Nathan in 2003 and Evan in 2007. A wonderful, kind, loving husband and father; Scott had a brilliant mind and was an "out of the box" thinker. Scott loved his wife and children dearly. Living life full of childlike joy and wonder, he held strong to his faith and never wavered in his belief that God is good - even in death. On March 26, 2009. Scott went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus. We rejoice in knowing that he is in the presence of God, praising Him, and probably has his own "inventing workshop" in heaven. All who knew Scott will miss him dearly for the incredibly unique, wonderful person he was. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Perimeter Church, 9500 Medlock Bridge Road, Duluth, GA.
