Shelby Sarmiento

Shelby Lee Sarmiento, age 64, passed away Saturday, July 6, at Donalsonville Hospital. Shelby was born in Donalsonville, Georgia, to Shelton Lavon Newsome and Onie Lee Tipton Newsome. Her parents have preceded her in death. Shelby was a hard worker. She enjoyed being around people and enjoyed working at the Junior Mall in Bainbridge. She liked to play computer casino games. Shelby enjoyed tending to her flowers. More than anything, she enjoyed her family. Each member was so important and loved by Shelby. Shelby Lee Sarmiento is survived by her children, Cynthia Natasha Poole and Shelley Lynn Poole Hicks; brother, Kenneth Lavon Newsome and wife, Wanda; grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Stogner, Dorian Seth Glover, Jonie Lynn Hicks, and Joshua Cullen Hicks; great-grandchildren, Karisma Ariela Hawkins and Jaylah Rayne Stogner; aunt, Vera Milligan; and nephews, Jeffery Lavon Newsome and Kenneth James Newsome. The family will hold a private memorial service in her honor.
