Sherri Harrell

Sherri E. Wells Harrell, age 69, passed away very peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at her home in Cairo, Georgia. Services for Mrs. Harrell will be held Tuesday, 11:00 am, March 10, 2026, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home, 502 S. Scott Street, Bainbridge, Georgia. The Rev. Chris Allen will officiate. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 10:00 am. A private interment will be held in Oak City Cemetery.

Sherri E. Wells Harrell was born September 2, 1956, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to Clifton Wells and Lila Jean Dykes Wells. She was a very compassionate and intelligent woman with a beautiful smile. Sherri became a registered nurse and dedicated her life in service to putting others first. She was not only a nurse in her career, but in her heart, and she loved and cared for those around her. Before her retirement she worked at Pinewood Nursing Center in Whigham, Georgia. Sherri was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cairo. Her family was her heart. She deeply loved her brothers and sister, and she was inseparable from her mother, Lila, for whom she was a caretaker until her passing. Sherri will be dearly missed by her family and her many dear friends.

Sherri is survived by her daughter Evy Harrell Malicoat (Benny Malicoat)l; her siblings, John Wells (Patricia), Julie Wells Hairr (Rob), Marvin Wells (Shanta); her nephew Jonathon Wells (Bonnie); her niece Jennifer Wells Eaton (Andrew) and 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Bonnie Harrell.
