Sibyl Farnan Rich, 70, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Medley officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Roger Edmunds, Raymond Floyd, Neil Floyd, Harry Smith, Rusty Davis and Gerald Floyd serving as active pallbearers. The Mary Martha Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home. Mrs. Rich was born April 10, 1940 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Pierce Charles Farnan and Pauline Karl Floyd Farnan. She graduated from Bainbridge High School, Class of 1958. Mrs. Rich was a retired human resource clerk for the Decatur County Board of Education, a member of First Baptist Church, and also a member of the Mary Martha Sunday School Class. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, H. Palmer Rich, of Bainbridge, GA; her daughter, Karen R. Ragan and her husband, Rick, of Bainbridge, GA; her son, Chuck Rich and his wife, Jennie, of Thomasville, GA; and her grandchildren, Katie Ragan, Rich Ragan, Anna Rich and Morgan Rich.
