Steven Powell

Steve Powell, 63, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Solid Rock Church with Pastor Chuck Bostick officiating. Interment will be at Beulah Thomas Baptist Church Cemetery. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines. Steve was born October 16, 1957, in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Ray and Jewell Addison Powell.  He was a truck driver and loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and singing. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Powell of Banbridge, GA; his daughter, Emily Swearingain (David) of Reynoldsville, GA; his son, Derrin Powell of Alabama; his siblings, Lajean Williamson (James), Phyllis Lane, and Donnell Powell, all of Bainbridge, GA, Linda Braswell of Reynoldsville, GA, Sandra Norris of Columbus, GA, and Sherri Boyett of Ty Ty, GA; and 5 grandchildren. Mr. Powell was predeceased by his sisters, Annette Knight, Rae Faircloth, and brothers, Kenneth Powell and Larry Powell.
