Funeral Services for Mr. Ted Earl Cook, 64, of Bainbridge, GA will be held Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lloyd Markham and Rev. David Grubbs officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens with full military honors. Honorary pallbearers will be Reese Rollins, Vance Custer, Rusty Hatton, Spencer Fero, Oscar Dewberry, Alec Poitevint, Joe Brown, Jesse Brown, Gary Brown, Lloyd Brock, Terry Smith, Buddy Nelson, John Nelson, Henry Metcalf. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Cox-Ware Funeral Home. Mr. Cook was born March 1, 1946 in Colquitt, GA to the now late Tony and Corine Ritter Cook. He has lived in Decatur County since 1985 when he moved from El Paso, TX where he was serving with the United States Army. He was a United States Army Veteran serving three tours in Vietnam and nine years in Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Silver Star, a Purple Heart, and numerous other medals and awards. Mr. Cook retired from the United States Army in 1984 as an E8/Master Sergeant. He was a member of West St. Baptist Church, the American Legion, and VFW Post 4904. He loved fishing, hunting, reading, and his family. Mr. Cook passed away at his residence Monday, April 19, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Martha Pearl Vickers Cook of Bainbridge, GA; five sons; Adrian Adams, Bryan (wife Tina) Adams, and Scott Adams all of Bainbridge, GA, Zack Adams of Tallahassee, FL, and Ted Jr. (Wife Alicia) Cook of Vida, OR; four brothers; Carlton and Andrew Cook both of Bainbridge, GA, , Tony (wife Sadie) Cook of Claxton, GA, and Gerald (wife Connie) Cook of Jacksonville, FL; four sisters; Bessie Owens of Brinson, GA, Mary Ann (husband E.W.) Mitchell of Cairo, GA, Phyllis (husband Joe) Williams and Gloria Cook both of Bainbridge, GA; and seven grandchildren; Jessica Adams, Ashley Adams, Lauren Adams, Ryan Adams, Bailey Parker, Zackary Adams, and Tony Cook.
