After moving to Bainbridge in 1928, she attended Bainbridge City Schools and graduated in 1938 as an honor graduate of Bainbridge High School. The three most important things in Theda's life were her God, her family, and her Church. She had a deep faith and trust that God's will would be done in all things and accepted that will with grace and courage. She was baptized into Christ and became a member of the First Christian Church in Bainbridge in 1932, where she remained an active member until her death. On September 15, 1940 she married T.E. Weathersby, who predeceased her on January 6, 1992, after 51 years of marriage. Their life together revolved around family and church. Theda was famous among family and friends for her lemon cheese and coconut cakes and her cornbread. Always full of life and determination, she was able to live alone and keep house until the last month. She was also known for her kindness and her sweet smile. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Mann and her husband Bruce, who was like a son to her, of Bainbridge; son Greg Weathersby and wife Ginger of Blakely, Ga.; grandchildren, Rebekah Mann of Thomasville, Trey Phillips of Cedartown, Ga., and Nic Weathersby of Blakely, a great-grandson Caiden Phillips and a great-granddaughter Alia Phillips.
