Theodora Downs

Mrs. Theodora O'Brein White Downs, age 80, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018, at her daughter's home in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2018, at Morningside Baptist Church. The Rev. Jimmy Dean will be officiating. Interment will be held in Ahoskie Cemetery in Ahoskie, North Carolina. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Morningside, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Theodora O'Brein White was born March 24, 1937, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to Theodore Roy White and Imogene Donalson White. She was married to Horace Taylor Downs, Jr., who preceded her in death. Mrs. Downs was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class, where she served as class secretary. O'Brein loved to crochet and quilt. She made many, many beautiful crocheted gifts for her friends. She was a loving, generous person. A wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, O'Brein Downs will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Mrs. O'Brein is survived by her children, Horace Taylor Downs, III and Benita Kay Tome and grandchildren, Michelle Tome, Brooke Tome, Rachel Tome, Matthew Tome, and Michael Tome.
