Mr. Thomas Lee Hatcher, age 89, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at his home in Cairo, Georgia. Services for Mr. Hatcher will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2013, at Long Branch Baptist Church. The Rev. Jeff Ezell will officiate. Interment will follow in Union Hill Cemetery. Casey Blackmon, Kyle Hatcher, Derek Hatcher, John Tillis, Shorty Carroll, and Carl Lee will serve as pallbearers. The deacons of Long Branch Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Long Branch Baptist Church. Thomas Lee Hatcher was born September 19, 1923 in Mitchell County, Georgia, to Wesley Hiram Hatcher and Mary Ann Keller Hatcher. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. Thomas Hatcher was married to the love of his life, Bobbie Jo Johnson Hatcher, for almost 62 years. He was an active member of Long Branch Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge #299. He was also a member of the American Legion. Mr. Hatcher worked as a farmer and ran an exterminating business. His hobbies were work and church. He was dedicated to both. Thomas Lee Hatcher was a wonderful example of what a father and a Christian man should be. Mr. Hatcher is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jo Hatcher; children, Judy H. Blackmon and husband, Stanley, Gary Hatcher and wife, Deborah, Virgil Hatcher, and Wesley Hatcher and wife, Dianna, all of Cairo; grandchildren, Casey Blackmon and wife, Stacey, Kyle Hatcher, and Derek Hatcher; great-grandchildren
