Thomas A. Jones, 78, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Hammock Springs Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Hammock Springs Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA with Joshua Merritt, Chad Warren, Brian Warren, Jeff Jones, SMSgt Frank Geslak, and Col. Gary Breedlove serving as active pallbearers. Full Military Honors will be provided by the U. S. Air Force Honor Guard from Tyndall Air Force Base. Mr. Jones was born August 21, 1933 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Zacharia Jones and Mollie Myrtle Montcreif Jones. He was a graduate of Seminole County High School and earned a degree from Bainbridge College. Mr. Jones was a retired TSGT in the United States Air Force. He formerly worked with Bainbridge Public Safety, the Decatur County Sheriff's Office, Texpar, and Federal State Inspection Services. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Robin Jones of Bainbridge, GA; his sons, Joshua Merritt of Donalsonville, GA and Shawn Jones of Bainbridge, GA; his daughter, Jessica Merritt of Bainbridge, GA; and his brother, Bob Jones and his wife, Janice, of Donalsonville, GA. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his daughter, Jamie Lee Jones; and his brothers, Benjamin Jones and David Jones.
