Thomas F. Whatley, Jr., 77, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 7, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Davidson officiating. Interment will follow at Blakely Cemetery. Mr. Whatley was born November 19, 1933 in Blakely, GA, the son of Thomas Floyd Whatley and Minnie Lee Duke Whatley. He was a graduate of Early County High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during the Korean War. Mr. Whatley was the HVAC Supervisor for the Decatur County School Board and owner and operator of Decatur Heating and Cooling. He was preceded in death by his sons, William D. Whatley and Matthew W. Whatley; and his daughter, Cheryl W. Ellison. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Whatley, of Bainbridge, GA; his son, Tom Whatley, III and his wife, Michelle, of Bainbridge, GA; his daughters, Paula Inlow and her husband, Vincent, of Bainbridge, GA and Tammy Whatley, of Tallahassee, FL; his sister, Frances Adams, of Thomaston, GA; his 10 grandchildren; and his 23 great-grandchildren.
