Tom Hicks, 85, of Albany, GA, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Albany Health Care. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kent Miller officiating, and will conclude at the chapel. Tom was born December 26, 1925 in Conyers, GA, the son of Thomas Bernard Hicks and Nona Kinnett Hicks. He was a prominent and beloved realtor. Tom owned Hicks Realty for over 20 years and in 1981 received Realtor of the Year Award. After retirement, he joined ReMax and continued his love of serving people until he was 74. He was a member of the Albany Board of Realtors, where he received the Albany Board of Realtors Award for Outstanding Service, Attitude, and Professionalism in 1984. Tom was also a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club, and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his son, Mickey Hicks and his wife, Pam, of Fayetteville, NC; his daughter, Janie Hughes and her husband, Bill, of Albany, GA; his sister-in-law, Vonnie Ivester of Albany, GA; his grandchildren, Michele Hicks and Robert Parrish and his wife, Kelley; and his great-grandsons, Trey Parrish and Landon Parrish. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vernice Dollar Hicks.
