Travis Day

Travis Day, 61, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Grubbs and Rev. Scott Messer officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Jason Scott, Chris Scott, Jeff Brancato, Preston Messer, Earl Knight, Alan Killingsworth, Dean Atkinson, and Stuart Atkinson serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of First Church of the Nazarene. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Day was born September 11, 1951 in Dunedin, FL, the son of William Harmon Day and Mary Lavania Craft Day. He was a graduate of Tarpon Springs High School, Class of 1969 and was a law enforcement officer with Bainbridge Public Safety and retired from the Decatur County Sheriff's Office. Mr. Day was a member of Bainbridge First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Betty Day of Bainbridge, GA; his sons, Waylon Day and his wife, Shana, and Hank Day and his wife, Summer, all of Bainbridge, GA; his brother, Tyrone Day and his wife, Rachelle, of Port Richey, FL; and his three grandchildren, Haylon Day, Liam Day, and Ivy Day. Mr. Day was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Day Vangelinos.
