Trula Mae Wattenbarger, age 84, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, August 31, 2025. Services for Mrs. Wattenbarger will be held in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home, 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The Rev. Rawleigh Furney will officiate. The service will end in the chapel. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 1:00.
Trula Mae Blalock was born March 4, 1941, in Sevierville, Tennessee to Roy Harrison Blalock and Emma Letcho Blalock. Raised in Tennessee, Trula was spunky, quick-witted, and extremely independent. She adored Pepsi Cola and bougie coffee. She loved flowers and worked as a very talented floral arranger for 33 years. Loved by so many, she was called Granny by all. Her grandchildren were her world. She loved watching her grands achieve the milestones in their lives. Time with them meant the world to her. She danced and laughed with them. Trula was a dedicated member of Eldorendo Holiness Church. The other loves of Trula’s life were her dogs, Duke, Gator and Seminole. Trula will be dearly missed.
Trula Mae Blalock Wattenbarger is survived by her children, Roy Wattenbarger (Linda) and Lisa Kemp (Paul), all of Bainbridge, Georgia; siblings, Vaugh Blalock (Jan) of Kingsport, Tennessee and Wanda Forrester of Tellico Plains, Tennessee; grandchildren, Justin Fuller, Brandon Wattenbarger, Michael Thibodeau, Jake Kelley, Kirsten Kemp, and Dale Kemp; 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Arnold Blalock and Claude Blalock.
