Una Alderman

Una Mae Alderman, 95, of Bainbridge, GA passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on October 26, 2019. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Burrell officiating. Interment will be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Una Mae Brooks was born May 29, 1924 in Moultrie, GA, the daughter of Avin Hall Brooks and Lillie Whitfield Brooks. Una Mae retired from the family retail clothing store, Alderman's, located on the Square in Bainbridge. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Fronie McQuaig Sunday School Class. Una Mae married the love of her life, John R. Alderman, Jr., on December 25, 1949. Una Mae was a very devoted wife and mother. Her greatest joy was working with her husband and family in the family clothing store, Alderman's. She loved Downtown Bainbridge. Una Mae loved to dress. She never left her home unless she was dressed to the nines complete with her high heels. She enjoyed reading and keeping informed of the current events of the world by watching Fox News. Una Mae had a heart for all animals especially her pets. Survivors include her son, Johnny R. Alderman; and her daughters, Shirley D. Alderman and Sandra M. Alderman all of Bainbridge. Una Mae was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Alderman, Jr.; her daughter, Sharon Jean Alderman; and her brothers, Alvin Brooks, Henry Brooks and Elster Brooks.
